Las Vegas Observation Wheel Completes First Phase of Construction

The planned observation tower, SkyVue, has finished the first phase of construction on the Las Vegasstrip. Located just north of the iconic “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign, when completed the tower will be an icon of its own forever changing the face of Vegas. It will be the largest observation wheel in the Western Hemisphere, and the first attraction of its kind in the city.

Across from Mandalay Bay, the wheel will offer panoramic views of the whole strip. Each side of the structure will have 50,000-square-foot LED screens and will host countless concerts, events, and product launches for the whole boulevard to see.

The building will also offer a two-story shopping, dining, and convention space, expecting to draw between five and eight million consumers annually. Also this project will bring more jobs to the city overall, with an estimated 700 construction jobs for its creation and 500 full-time jobs when the project is complete.
