Winter Park-Fraser Valley announces video contest with exceptional prizes

Winter Park-Fraser Valley, Colorado recently announced a video contest titled “Would you rather be here…,”which launches on Feb. 15. The entry deadline is April 4.

The grand prize is six nights lodging and a $1,000 Winter Park-Fraser Valley Key Card, valid for purchases at participating stores. Runner-ups will receive a three-night stay and a $500 Winter Park-Fraser Valley Key Card.

The Key Card is a free program which rewards visitors towards their purchases at Winter Park-Fraser Valley. The card also helps for guests to track and spend incentive dollars through Winter Park-Fraser Valley promotions.

“The premise of this contest is to get people to show us with creative videos why they’d rather be in Winter Park-Fraser Valley than anywhere else,” says Catherine Ross, Winter Park-Fraser Valley Chamber Director. “Examples could be a video of being stuck in traffic, bored at home, or standing in a long line countered with a clip of their favorite activity in Winter Park-Fraser Valley. The sky’s the limit, and we’re excited to see what people come up with to show off all the great things to do in Winter Park-Fraser Valley.”

Winter Park-Fraser Valley is an exceptional – and easy to access – year round vacation destination, according to Ross. Available wintertime activities include downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, dog-sledding, tubing and sledding.

During the summertime, Winter Park offers mountain biking, hiking, fishing, golfing, water sports and horseback riding.

Residents of the U.S. and Canada who are 18 and older are eligible to enter the video contest. Contestants must first ‘like’ Winter Park-Fraser Valley on Facebook and may enter their videos at To enter, click on the ‘Would You Rather Be Here…’ tab, then click the ‘Enter’ button for the entry form, contest dates and contest rules/details.

Participants are encouraged to share their video entry with friends via social networking sites. People may vote by ‘liking’ their favorite video from April 5-30. The entries with the most Facebook ‘likes’ will win. Winners will be announced during the first week of May.
