Thanksgiving approaches, but fewer people choose to fly this year.

37,000 fewer people are expected to fly this Thanksgiving, but reduced airline capacities mean that those who do fly can anticipate crowded flights, CNN reported.

Although the Air Transport Association of America predicts a 2% drop in the number of travelers, about 23.2 million will fly during the 12-day period around Thanksgiving. According to the Association, the busiest days will be Friday, November 18, Sunday the  27th and Monday the 28th, while the least busy day will be Thanksgiving Day itself, the 24th.

Due to the difficult economic situation, fewer people are flying. To match the lowered demand, airlines are reducing capacities on their planes. To dodge the crowds, experts suggest flying on the holiday, according to CNN.
