While SuperBowl fans are scrambling to find accommodations in the Dalla/Fort Worth area, and hotels may be booking up quickly, sports fans should be aware that there are now additional options for lodging. Campgrounds in the greater Dallas/ Fort Worth area offer an affordable alternative to hotels and motels. In fact, several of these campgrounds not only have campsites, but rental cottage accommodations. Additionally, a new website has been created by the association to help SuperBowl fans find parks that can accommodate them.
With many SuperBowl ticket holders having trouble finding lodging, the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) quickly began sensing a marketing opportunity with the upcoming SuperBowl only a few days away. They have recently launched a new website , which helps RV enthusiasts pinpoint campgrounds that are located near Dallas Cowboy Stadium and other popular special event venues.
While campgrounds and RV parks have yet to book up for SuperBowl weekend, park operators expect campsites to book up quickly once the final teams are selected for the SuperBowl.
In addition to Dallas Cowboy Stadium, the website includes calendar information about a wide range of special events and links to American Airlines Center, the State Fairgrounds in Dallas; The Ballpark in Arlington; Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie; Fort Worth Stockyards and Texas Motor Speedway. The website also includes links to Dallas/Forth Worth area RV dealers that rent RVs.
In addition to marketing campgrounds and RV parks through TexasCampgrounds.com, TexasCabinRentals.net and DFWEventsAndCampgrounds.com, the Texas Association of Campground Operators publishes and distributes the Texas RV Travel & Camping Guide to Texas each year.
