Americans Won’t Skimp on Travel Plans

It’s hard to save up money these days, but Americans would rather cut back on their everyday leisure activities than give up their travel plans in 2009.

According to a survey conducted by TravelMuse, 65 percent of Americans plan to cut back on areas such as dining, apparel, pampering, and electronics in order to ensure their vacation travel arrangements this year.

Besides cutting back, travelers are also planning to do more research to find the best possible travel deals. In a surprising twist, 22 percent of respondents said they plan to take more trips in 2009 than they did in 2008.
