Vroom Vroom Vroom, and Feel Good About Driving a Rental Car

There’s a new car rental website that aims to take a little bit of the guilt out of driving a car that spews noxious fumes.  Vroom Vroom Vroom.com is the eco-conscious car rental site, offers travelers reservations at all major car rental agencies in more than 2000 U.S. locations, including major airports, city centers and smaller regional towns.

They even claim to have the industry’s fastest interface–just 28.5 seconds to reserve a car. We’ll have to test that one and see.  Vroom Vroom Vroom pays out a carbon offset for each rental, paying for planting trees or removing pollution in some other part of the world.

The company was started in Las Vegas and on the site you can find ‘geek travel tips,’ a list of 25 web apps for road planning, including maps, travel search engines and tools to find parking lots. The site also gives áccidental tourist tips’ sightseeing ideas for anyone who finds themselves with extra time in a new place.
