Viva Italia, Celebrate it with Italian Films and Music on Air One

For those who love Italy, there can be no limit to news about their adopted favorite land. This I know because I live with a partner who can’t get enough of Italian TV, trips to Italy, and speaking her favorite language.

She’d love this new concept: Air One, a relatively small Italian carrier, will begin service from Boston to Milan, according to the Boston Globe Travel blog. And their new promise is an all Italian style flight. The story said that Air One will offer an immersion in Italian culture, from the cuisine, the in-flight entertainment and even the decor. They will have Italian movies and play Italian music, to get passengers in the mood to visit Italy.

Italy has a distinction of being the country where the most people fly there and actually stay there. More people fly to France but often use it as a transit stop en route to other countries. No country in the world, Italian tourism officials told us, do people visit longer for holidays.

The new route from Boston to Milan will fly five days a week. A similar Italian themed route will join Chicago with Milan, six flights per week. The new connections will operate a code-share arrangement with United Airlines.
