Avianca and TACA Airlines Join Star Alliance Airlines

Avianca and Taca Airlines have joined with Star Alliance Airlines to open up access to 21,500 flights a day in 193 countries to its passengers. Frequent travelers will benefit from the frequent flyer program that Star Alliance offers, including special amenities, products, services, and the 990 VIP lounges across five continents.

Star Alliance is the world’s largest airline in terms of daily flights, network, service, and number of members. It is recognized as the world’s first truly global airline. It is supported by  the nearly half a million employees across five continents, and transports 650 million passengers a year.

Avianca and TACA Airlines, primarily South American Airlines, will have an opportunity to strengthen their presence in Latin America and the islands with this merger.
