Prince Harry To Travel To Belize

Prince Harry of Wales is scheduled to visit Belize March 2-3, 2012 to be a part of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Belize offers an array of adventurous outdoor activities to fellow thrillseekers. Cascading waterfalls, cave tubing, zip-lining, hiking through ancient Maya relics, snorkeling at the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and diving the Blue Hole are just a few of the exciting things Belize provides.

The ‘Survivor’ Adventure

Experts have trained reality show contestants and adventurous vacationers how to live off of the land by taking advantage of Belize’s natural resources. The survival training packages are customizable offer activities such as rappelling high over the rainforest canopy in search of natural shelters, zip-lining through the jungle, tubing down the rivers of underground cave systems and snorkeling among sharks and sting rays at Shark Ray Alley.

Diving the Blue Hole/Snorkeling the Barrier Reef

Belize houses the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second largest in the world. It measures 185 miles in length and is the perfect spot for snorkeling and diving. Another great diving spot is the Blue Hole, which is 412 feet deep and has an almost perfect circular opening.

The Explorer/History Buff

Ancient Mayan temples and winding caves can be visited during discovery expeditions in Belize. The excursion can focus on adventure seeking activities or the fascinating history of the Mayans. The Actun Tunichil Muknal cave is home to several chambers where sacrificial ceremonies once took place and several ancient artifacts. El Castillo, the largest temple of the famous Xunantunich Maya site, has a detailed picture of the sun god on its side.
