Flying to Germany just got comfier on airberlin

Flying to Germany just got a whole lot comfier.

airberlin recently released the first of its long-haul fleet of A330-200s to include new seats in business class and economy and a new in-flight entertainment system.

The new fully automatic seats in business class offer travelers the utmost comfort whether seated or lying. The new seat now reclines 170 degrees, allowing a transformation into a comfortable 181 cm long and 50 cm wide lounging seat. In addition, each seat now has a connection for a laptop or other electronic device. This upgrade has now made 20 seats in the business class.

New light-weight seats are being created for economy class. The slimmer back rest provides maximum leg room and increases the cabin “living space.” Other amenities include adjustable headrests, coat hooks, as well as pockets for magazines and books. Post upgrade, the economy cabin now includes 279 seats.

airberlin is working to set a milestone in in-flight entertainment. They now provide an individualized entertainment program, complete with on demand access with a wide selection of box office hits, TV sitcoms, games, music albums and also audio books. The 8.9 inch high-resolution screen now uses the latest LED and touch screen technology. A USB port is accessible via the side of the monitor for the use of small electronic devices.

The upgrade will be complete by the beginning of the summer 2012 flight schedule. Airberlin currently offers flights from New York, Miami and Ft Myers nonstop to Dusseldorf and Berlin and starting in May 2012, it will also offer service from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Vancouver, Canada.
